Dear young friends,

You have shown that you are all great young athletes, you have shown the excellence and that you all have a great sense of fair play, friendship, and respect.

You have filled Tbilisi with a great energy, an energy only youth can provide, treating us to six days of outstanding competitions, joy and friendship that have made this 13th Summer EYOF an event we will remember and cherish in the years ahead.

Dear young friends, with today’s celebrations the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi comes to a close.

You the Athletes of these Festival have begun your Olympic careers. Treasure this experience and use it as a springboard to achieve ever greater things in the years to come.
You have performed to the highest levels and no doubt will in the years to come perform with distinction at future Olympic Games. You are a great credit to your countries.

In closing I wish to thank the Government of Georgia and its Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili for its wonderful support, the Mister of Sport Tariel Khechikashvili and the Mayor of Tbilisi David Narmania as well as the Municipal Authorities, who have been our magnificent hosts for this Festival. Let me also warmly thank the National Olympic Committee of Georgia and its President Leri Khabelov as well as the splendid team of Organizing Committee and volunteers led by Aleksi Akhvlediani. No Games can succeed without VOLUNTEERS and at this Festival the volunteers were truly magnificent in all their duties. All these people have shown true Olympic spirit in the way they have tackled, with such drive and dynamism, the task of managing this fabulous event.
Please give them a big round of applause.

And now: “I declare the 13th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival closed and, in accordance with tradition, I call upon the youth of Europe to assemble two years from now in Hungary in the city of Györ to celebrate with us the 14th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival”.
