Prime Minister inspected the sport venues

On 23 July, European Youth Olympic Festival "Tbilisi 2015" governmental committee meeting took place at the government chancellery building, which was guided by the prime minister, where the members of the government heard the organizational issues of the Festival by the chair of the organizing committee, Aleksi Akhvlediani. The prime minister spontaneously decided to inspect the work process of all Olympic venues after the governmental committee meeting came to an end.

The head of the government visited the Olympic Village, then came the new sport venues dedicated for "Tbilisi 2015"- Athletics venue, Gymnastics venue, Swimming venue, Volleyball venue. He also visited the outside perimeters of the venue in order to get familiar with the work process.

According to the prime minister, it is important for Georgia to host these international events with dignity and success.” It is a great challenge for the country and an immense privilege at the same time. Putting finishing touches is in full swing, cleaning activities are underway. We are looking forward to hosting the Olympic Festival Games, and we expect a multitude of guests. Tbilisi will be a very busy city through July. In two weeks after the Olympic Festival, we will host the UEFA Super Cup, a good opportunity to attract as many tourists and visitors as possible”, said Garibashvili

The final clean-up works near the Olympic venue territories will be completed in two weeks.

In the summer of 2015, the 13th edition of the Youth Olympic Festival will be officially opened in Tbilisi on 26 of July.
