Joint Press Conference with Akhvlediani and Liba

After the inspection of sport infrastructure, the Chairman of EOC COCOM, Josef Liba, together with the Chair of the Organizing Committee of “Tbilisi 2015”, Aleksi Akhvlediani held an official press conference. According to Liba, compared to their previous visit, there is evident progress in the construction of infrastructure for the European Youth Olympic Festival. The Chairman of EOC COCOM, Josef Liba, stated:

Today, we completed the inspection of the European Youth Olympic Festival infrastructure. We examined the situation in order to be sure of how prepared [the organizers] are to implement Festival [activities]. There has been tremendous progress compared with our last visit. Progress is evident not only in the construction of the Athlete’s Village, but also in the construction of all sport venues. During the last inspection, we were concerned with the progress of the Handball and Swimming venues, 7however, today I saw that the construction work has moved forward, which is very satisfying.

According to the Chair of the European Youth Olympic Festival “Tbilisi 2015” Organizing Committee, Aleksi Akhvlediani, the Coordination Commission is convinced that the Festival will take place without any difficulties. Aleksi Akhvlediani stated:

This was the so-called final inspection, before the festival. According to the members of the Coordination Commission, all the works, infrastructural and organizational, are running as planned. Moreover, in some infrastructural aspects we are ahead of schedule. The Coordination Commission was once again convinced that the Festival will not experience any difficulties, and that it will be one of the best Olympic Festivals.
