On Tuesday, 9th June, In the conference hall of SDASU, for the merited contribution in our country's sport life, Aleksi Akhvlediani was given a diploma of an honorary doctorate, as well as a bronze medal and an icon of Davit Aghmashenebeli. In return, Aleksi Akhvlediani gave as a gift to the museum of SDASU the sculpture that is made of the stone taken from the Panathenaic stadium; this kind of sculpture is given only to those, who are given the Olympic Flame. In the process of the meeting in SDASU, Aleksi Akhvlediani talked about the events held by "Tbilisi 2015" and the importance of the Olympic Festival and presented the work in process.

Aleksi Akhvlediani: "It is a huge honor for me as well as a big responsibility to hold the title of an honorary doctorate of the University of Davit Aghmashenebeli. I am sure that we will make more important and developing procedures together, in the future. I think that, inspite the fact that it being a big honor, it is also a big responsibility and i will try my best to meet your expectations.

Ivane Sekhniashvili - Dean of the media school of SDASU : " It is a big honor for us today, that the representatives of the organizing committee of Georgian Olympic Festival were our guests. Mr. Aleksi Akhvlediani made a great speech, he made a presentation and talked about the process of the Youth Olympic Festival. According to the decision of the board of the University Davit Aghmashenebeli, Mr. Aleksi Akhvlediani was given a honorary doctorate degree diploma.
